In line with statutory requirements, RE is delivered in Key stage 3 at MEPA Academy. We follow the outline set by Kent County Council. We aim to promote understanding and tolerance of all religious beliefs.

We aim to develop our students to:

• Have an interest in the subject
• Work with creativity and excellence 
• Have a safe platform for all students to explore and develop their Knowledge and understanding
• Develop contextual knowledge


Christianity and at least two other principal religions will be studied: Sikhism and Buddhism. In addition at least one other principal religion studied in key stages 1 and 2 should be revisited from: Islam, Hinduism or Judaism A religious community with a significant presence locally and, where appropriate, a secular world view will be studied.


RE is not currently offered as an option at Key stage 4 at MEPA Academy
